Moscar, Derwent Edge and Strines- David and Paul Bog Cotton and Kinder in the distance David had one his periodic walks with Paul; we met at the bottom of Moscar Cross Road (below Moscar Hall) as Sugworth Road was still closed because of the landslip above Jacob Plantation. This is really handy as it provides a spot to park that isn't well known. There is usually plenty of parking space on any day of the week, and every possible parking spot on the Snake Road was taken. We crossed Mortimer Road, passed through the farmyard at Moscar House, and plodded up to Derwent Edge. Derwent Edge was popular, with quite a few DofE groups on their expeditions. We didn't treat ourselves to a trip to Back Tor but made our way down Foulstone Road to Strines Bridge and crossed below Strines Reservoir, turning back towards Moscar. We had met a party who told us that the closed section of road above Jacob Plantation was passible (with care) for pedestrians, so our return to the car was a little f...
