A Walk Around Longdendale Reservoirs A relatively short and level walk was in order, so we set out from Tintwistle. Sadly, Pixie Bakes wasn't open so no pre-walk refreshments were available. As ever, the Compensation Gauge below Bottoms Reservoir was well worth a look- this was to provide the disgruntled mill owners a measured volume of water as compensation after the Valehouse and other reservoirs had been built and had restricted the flow of water to the mills. The Compensation Gauge Despite the relative brevity of the walk, cute lambs were seen! A walk of 4.7 miles with a bit of ascent.
