Eyam, Abney Moor and Sir William Hill We decided on a walk from Eyam- relatively close and familiar. There was a couple of landmarks from our walk of 6th June in 2023 that we wanted to take in- notably, a bench above Abney Grange with great views westward. The walk starts up the restored byway leading up from the Eyam Museum, passing the end of the Sir William Hill byway and passes the Barrel Inn at Breton, where we stopped for a quick drink. The Heydeckers aren't the only ones to adorn places with plaster pigs! Does the pig improve reception? It's above the way in, as well Our walk continued along the closed road running above Eyam Edge and turns above Hucklow Edge for a short distance and then drops down across a couple of re-entrants before turning across Abney Moor. Before dropping down from Hucklow Edge Old waterworks nestling in first re-entrant After crossing the road onto Abney Moor we reached the bench above Abney Grange with its view- a perfect spot for lunch.
