Monday November 3rd
Lyme Park It promised to be a wet start to the week after Monday, therefore when the chance to nip out after lunch appeared, we rose to the challenge. Lyme Park is a strange mixture of very developed areas and other parts which are reminiscent of open moorland. We parked near the house and walked up the hill and through the woods to the gate marking the start of open country. The wind was fairly intense so we walked to the Beehive along a lower path, enjoying the spires of Manchester in the distance. The Beehive (Paddock Cottage) in the sun The light was beginning to fade and there was a cut off time of 5pm in the car park, so we walked back to the car in the last of the sunlight. A quick little outing but worth doing and we hope to get out for a proper walk later in the week. A walk of 2.8 miles with 150m ascent.
