A Reworked Route We set out, hoping to get the bus to the Falzarego Pass and onwards to the Rifugio Nuvolau, one of our memorable stopping points on the AV1 back in September 2018. It turned out that the road up to the Pass was closed and we had to hastily rethink our day, starting instead from Sciare. As it turned out, it proved to be a fantastic day, with some memorable moments. We walked up to the Rifugio Scotoni and had a coffee and refreshments. One of us had strudel, the other fresh fruits and yoghurt. Absolutely delicious refreshments We admired Bianco and Tartufo the Alpacas who were lounging in the grass outside the refuge. Bianco and Tartufo- very relaxed Then the route became seriously steep with a long pull up Route 20 to join the AV1. Leaving Rifugio Scotoni behind It was quite something to look across and see the route we had taken on the AV1 to descend the Forcela di Lech.
