Longnor and Chrome Hill After the storms of earlier in the week, Wednesday looked dry and settled so we decided to go for a walk in the Longnor region. After some discussion about which walk to do, we decided upon Chrome Hill. We last did the walk in 2023 with Ann and Julian and knew it was a great, scenic walk with the bonus of the walk up Chrome Hill itself. We grabbed a coffee at the refurbished Moorland cafe and then set off up Gauledge Lane. We went up past the farm to the road which leads to Hollinsclough. A short walk along the road leads to the village and then out onto a bridleway with a view of Chrome Hill. Chrome Hill- our objective The bridleway continues to a packhorse bridge and then heads up the hill until the concessionary path to Chrome Hill is marked. This section is very pleasant with panoramic views all around so we stopped for a pleasant lunch on the hillside and admired the sheep and the goats- although it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the two.
