David and Jacinta's Walks- 2025

Shining Tor After a short break, it was time to test the water again and that old faithful, Shining Tor provided the location. It was not too wet and we marvelled at some of the cloud formations. Clouds over Leek way A quick up and down and back in time for lunch was all that was required. A walk of 4.2 miles with 180m ascent.

Shining Tor on a Wet Day We really needed to get out for a few walks and, although the forecast was for rain on and off, we went out to the Pym Chair car park just north of Oldgate Nick and Shining Tor. We had the car park to ourselves: A lonely car The clouds blew in and out- mainly in, but the rain wasn't particularly heavy or persistent. Clouds, Shining Tor and Shutlingsloe Despite the prevailing weather, there were a few sunny spots and it was actually a very enjoyable walk of 4.2 miles with 170m ascent.

 Edale Skyline West We decided on Edale for today's walk. It had been a while since we'd done the walk from Hollins Cross and west to Rushup Edge, and we decided that each of us would do a walk that would suit us on our own.  David's Walk I decided that I'd do the whole round, past the top of Jacob's Ladder and through The Woolpacks. Noe Stool and Pym Chair from Brown Knoll I stopped for lunch at Brown Knoll, and then traversed the top of Jacob's Ladder, meeting the family who had parked next to us in the Edale car park on my way. Woolpacks and Grindslow Knoll I love the woolpacks and, each time I go through them, I think that I ought to spend some time  taking pictures, but for the moment- here's just one.
