Chinley, Brown Knoll and South Head- David Solo Another very hot day, and I ventured out alone. I didn't want to drive too far, and Chinley always provides a "Good Value" walk. I decided that I'd drop over the saddle below Mount Famine and go up to Brown Knoll via Oaken Clough. Just past Whiterakes, a back lamb was shamelessly posing next to the stone structure with a great view of Kinder Downfall. I'd love to know what this structure actually is! At the saddle below Mount Famine, lambs were sheltering in the shade of a wall. They were so hot that they were unaware of me and just panted and panted to try to keep cool. Passing through the gate just beyond, cows were also feeling the heat. The orange one in the following picture didn't move as I went through, even though she was in the way! Too hot to moooove...
