Moscar, The Derwent Moors and Strines Edge Our original plan was to park up at Cutthroat Bridge, but even this capacious parking spot was packed. It had appeared that there was a single space, but on closer inspection that turned out to be the remains of a burned-out car. David remembered a possible spot from a walk that we had done some while ago, between Moscar House and Moscar Hall. Luckily there was ample space there- possibly people had been put off by the sign saying that the road had been closed, but there were plenty of spots before the barriers closing the road off. When we got out of the car, it was really chilly so we got back in to have a look at our options for a walk, ranging from a modest three miles to more like ten. It was decided to set out towards Derwent Edge and see how it went. Our route took us through the farmyard at Moscar House, which had provided entertainment from time to time (vigilant collies, hoards of sheep, chickens looking after a duckling...). Shortly...
